All in one computer printers have become all the rage in recent years because they are so versatile. Being able to print, copy and scan is a real benefit for most people, and the costs have come down considerably, so they are now very affordable. One of the most popular choices is the HP range, with the deskjet series being top of the list. You can pick them up virtually anywhere these days, and prices do vary so shop around. Places like argos and other online retailers have them at lowest prices at present.
The reason that printers are so cheap is because the money is made in the ink you have to buy. A new ink cartridge can cost quite a lot of cash, especially if you use your printer a lot. I have a HP deskjet and the ink cartridges cost £10, and they will print around about 300 to 400 pages of A4 before they run out. This is just for a black cartridge by the way. A colour cartridge is around £15 so the costs soon mount up.
You can save by re filling the cartridges, and there are many stores that will do this for you. Even then, the price is not too much lower. Buying in bulk will be about the best way to save, but then you have to shell out in one lump sum. Some of the older style Epsom printers are very cheap to run. The ink cartridges only cost a few pounds for these, although the quality of the printing is inferior. However, it still does a decent job and is far most cost efficient in the long run. Imagine how much you could save over the course of a few years?
You will have to search around to find somewhere that still sells them, and a good bet would be online as the choice is greater. Again, look for the larger distributors like argos online who have bigger stock levels than the rest. Even ebay is an option. The message is clear, find out how much thee ink costs for your printer before you buy it. Go for the cheapest ink cartridges to save the most money.
