There’s a reason why you have to pay for something, whatever that may. Mainly, because it’s worth the price tag, and you should feel justified in forking over the money. With the case of paid computer security software, provided you get your paid computer security software from a reputable brand, then you will get your money’s worth.

This is because not only will you have a complete security system in your PC that will be working 24/7, you will have the technical support of the company that made the software. This is a very important key in deciding whether to buy a security software, or just download a free version.

With the free version, you might only be able to use it on a trial basis. After that, the software will be deactivated unless you pay for the complete version. In other words, it a promotional gimmick to get you used to having the software in your PC. Thus, instead of going back to zero, looking for another free computer security software, you just pay to get it over with.

Paid computer security software will have much more than a free computer security software. Aside from the basic security package of an antivirus and antispyware, you also get anti-adware, pop up blockers, a firewall, and privacy features. It will also scan your email and any attachments it may have even before you get to open them. You can also arrange for scheduled scanning whenever you want. The automatic updates on new threats as well as enhancements on the applications will make the paid computer security software impenetrable.

Finally, you have the support of a good brand that will keep you and your files protected at all times. Paid desktop security software is capable of tracking down viruses and other malware, in the event that one slips past the firewall. It will also be able to provide you with an accurate record of your computer activities, in case you are not the only one using the computer.

For all these strong and convincing reasons, there really is no question about why one would have to pay for a computer security software instead of downloading a free computer security software.

Making home PC repairs is becoming more critical as more individuals start their own home businesses. Repairing a PC after a registry is corrupted is a non-trivial task but this article puts forward the logical approach to repairs along with a Reimage review for those instances when you need to resort to online PC maintenance software.

At the start of the year my home office desktop crashed with a blue screen error stating the registry hive could not be loaded. The hive is a grouping of configuration keys relating to a user and it had most likely been damaged due to my removing software off of the system that day.

The following sequence of repairs should be attempted to get the system back working:

- Try using another Windows account. If their hive is undamaged then you should be able to get in and at least reclaim/backup personal data.

- Hit F8 as Windows is starting up and choose to boot in Safe-Mode. This reduces the number of services running. If the hive fault relates to one of the services it restricts then you will be able to log in. If you maintain back-up copies of the registry then try rolling back to a working copy.

- Start Windows from their boot disks and run all available system/hardware scans.

- Lastly, resort to PC maintenance software.

For my situation I ultimately resorted to Reimage PC repair software to boot the system (from an application available on their site). Once the system was booted the Reimage repair and scan process checks the registry (for missing/erroneous keys), the operating system (for outdated/faulty files and device drivers) and application files.

The scan report highlighted dozens of issues with my registry file and the Reimage repair stage reset keys based on their knowledge base of what are healthy system settings. After a reboot the computer was back working better than ever with no issues reoccurring in the intervening months.

The key lessons from this was to maintain registry backups regularly, keep Windows boot disks handy at all times and lastly to be comforted by the thought that even blue screen faults can be remedied.

What is the main cause of your computer’s slow speeds? Did you download too many files, download malicious software, or install too many programs? Fixing all of these errors may help speed your computer up, but the most common causes of computer slow-downs are registry problems. Cleaning up the registry of your computer without software is a hassle, and if you aren’t an advanced user, you may end up damaging your computer by deleting entries. Manually fixing your registry problems is a confusing and time-consuming process.

Even after you remove spyware that has infected your computer, bits and pieces of the software will be left behind in your system registry. Information lurks from your past uninstalls in your registry, and most uninstallers packaged with well-known software do not thoroughly remove the program’s entries from the registry. So why fix the problem yourself? Download regedit cleaner and let the program do the hard work for you! Regedit cleaner removes outdated registry components to help increase the speed and performance power of your computer. Run regedit cleaner on scheduled mode to set your processes for any time of the day, so regedit cleaner can work while you’re away from the computer.

Think of the registry as the short-term memory of the human brain. Suppose that you were studying for a test, and you had to pick specific points of a chapter to study for your essay response in school. If you read through the entire chapter and tried to read all of the information, your brain would be clogged with too much useless information. Even after you focused on the big picture, your brain would still retain the short-term memory of the useless information about the chapter, rather than retaining the most useful points. Regedit cleaner will keep your computer focused on only the most important information, and will help you purge useless entries that remain from your past installations and removed software.

Anti spyware software are programs made to help you fight the ever increasing number of programs, known as spyware, which are designed to gather system information from your computer. Spyware tracks which actions you take on your computer, then collects the data in order to make a market profile on you, then transmits and sells the profile to advertisement companies.

Having loads of spyware on your computer can severely slow it down by draining it of all its recourses. It often comes bundled with shareware and other downloadable software. Have you ever tried suddenly having a new toolbar in your browser that you have no idea how you got? Most likely it was caused by spyware. Does your browser keep crashing for nogoodreason? Or did your start homepage switch? All spyware. The worst part is that you can’t even see all symptoms, you can’t see all the data being collected on you.

The spyware war rages on. And it gets more sophisticated every day. This article will give you some advice on good anti spyware software, that will help you speed up your computer.

Spyware Doctor

Spyware Doctor is one of the best anti-spyware programs overall. It has in fact won several awards testifying to that. Worldwide, the program has been downloaded more 100 million times. So this program is responsible for protecting an awful lot of PCs from spyware, adware, and various other online threats. Some of the advantages are great customer support and frequent updates.

SpyBot Search Destroy

SpyBot Search Destroy is another one of the best and most popular anti spyware programs available. It will comb your hard disk, looking for spy or adbots and remove them. The program costs exactly zero dollars, so there’s nothing to lose by giving it a try and check if something invaded your computer. The program generally needs to be customized, but when youhave done that, you will find it extremely effective.

Windows Defender

Free real-time spyware blocker. Windows Defender is currently available to Windows XP users freeof charge, and it is actually included in the Windows Vista operating system. Windows Defender is mostly recommended as a noninvasive extra program that will assist your other anti spyware software. The user interface is very easy to use and you can run manual and scheduled scans.

I hope you will find these programs helpful and that you will soon be spyware free!
