Learning how to reboot your computer isn’t terribly tough, but it can be very frustrating to sit there with a computer that is frozen and non-operational. The worst part is you can’t search Google for terms like “reboot computer” or “how reboot computer” to actually find out how to fix the problem. Hopefully you’re reading this article before you actually have the need to know how to reboot your computer. If the computer is completely non-responsive the best solution is to find the power button which is usually located on the front of the computer and hold it in for 8-10 seconds. The computer will power off and you can press the power button once again to turn the computer back on. It might start a scan of the hard drive to make sure there isn’t anything wrong with it. This is typical and you should let the computer finish the scan.
You might also have the problem on a rebooting computer where the computer just reboots over and over again. One of the possible solutions to this problem is a little more in depth so if you aren’t comfortable with it then you might want to take the computer to a local repair shop. You want to start with the computer off and then press the power button to turn it on. Begin tapping the F8 key until you see a black screen with some options presented in white text. Choose the Safe Mode option and hit enter. Hopefully this will load into a very odd looking version of Windows, but it should stop the constant rebooting. Not you can do a system restore back a few days. It take a while to finish this process, but once it’s done the computer should restart and then load into Windows as it did before. If you’re lucky and everything went right your computer should be back to normal.
There are only a few things that could solve computer rebooting problems and there are a lot more things you could try, but they are beyond the scope of this article. Remember to take your time and do some research. If you are even worried or unsure then it’s best to take your computer to a local expert and have him fix it.
