Makers of the best iPad cases are really hoping that the new iPad 2 is going to be an iPad mini. It will mean massive amounts of new business for them as it is touted to have a seven inch display. It will mean many new cases sold to protect the much more portable version of the iPad.

But that is if this is what will be released. No one really knows yet what they are going to release and although there are plenty of rumors there is simply no definite news yet of just what apple will finally release under the iPad 2 name. We will simply have to wait and see.

It does seem more likely that what they will release will be an iPad mini. This is because it will allow apple to get a much larger slice of the very lucrative e-book reader market. Currently dominated by the Amazon Kindle, a smaller iPad will be much more preferable for those who want to read books on the tablet. Owners of the current iPad state that it is simply a little too large to comfortably read books on and when questioned said that a seven inch display would be much more preferable.

This is apart from the fact that a smaller model is going to be a lot cheaper to buy so apple will be able to corner more of the tablet market as a whole. But as no one knows for sure just what they will release it is a waiting game to see just what they finally release and what the difference will be to the current iPad that is still selling at an amazing rate and has the largest corner of the whole net book market as a whole. I for one would like to see a smaller model released as it will be much more affordable to buy.

Printers, like other types of electronics, are made using toxic chemicals that will leech out of them as they break down in a landfill. They will pollute for decades to come, and continue doing damage long after they’re gone. This is why it’s so important to recycle old printers. In this post I want to share with some of the different ways that printers are recycled so you can make an educated decision when this time comes for you.

Printer recycling is usually done by either the manufacturer or an electronic recycling center. Both places will generally do the same things with your old printer once they receive it.

If your printer is newer and still in good shape, most of the time they will work to refurbish then resell it. It might seem off-putting that they are turning a profit on your waste, but it happens more than you think. You could have done this yourself if you wanted to, they are just doing it instead! Most of the time they will sell them to businesses that are getting started in other countries. In an indirect way you are helping to improve third world nations by recycling your printer!

Another common thing for them to do is take what they can out of them and use them as parts to fix other printers. Working and non-working printers will both get this treatment. The parts of a printer can usually be sold for more than the entire, put together unit can.

Everything else will generally go to a recycling facility where they will melt the plastic and metal down into a raw material that can be reused and manufactured into something new.

Recycling old printers is always a good idea. If you don’t want your printer to take part in all of the things outlined above, donate it to someone that can use it or sell it yourself on Craigslist or eBay.

All in one computer printers have become all the rage in recent years because they are so versatile. Being able to print, copy and scan is a real benefit for most people, and the costs have come down considerably, so they are now very affordable. One of the most popular choices is the HP range, with the deskjet series being top of the list. You can pick them up virtually anywhere these days, and prices do vary so shop around. Places like argos and other online retailers have them at lowest prices at present.

The reason that printers are so cheap is because the money is made in the ink you have to buy. A new ink cartridge can cost quite a lot of cash, especially if you use your printer a lot. I have a HP deskjet and the ink cartridges cost £10, and they will print around about 300 to 400 pages of A4 before they run out. This is just for a black cartridge by the way. A colour cartridge is around £15 so the costs soon mount up.

You can save by re filling the cartridges, and there are many stores that will do this for you. Even then, the price is not too much lower. Buying in bulk will be about the best way to save, but then you have to shell out in one lump sum. Some of the older style Epsom printers are very cheap to run. The ink cartridges only cost a few pounds for these, although the quality of the printing is inferior. However, it still does a decent job and is far most cost efficient in the long run. Imagine how much you could save over the course of a few years?

You will have to search around to find somewhere that still sells them, and a good bet would be online as the choice is greater. Again, look for the larger distributors like argos online who have bigger stock levels than the rest. Even ebay is an option. The message is clear, find out how much thee ink costs for your printer before you buy it. Go for the cheapest ink cartridges to save the most money.

Have you ever gotten frustrated trying to create images or artwork on the computer due to poor control? Or is your wrist suffering from repetitive strains of using the mouse? Or, even worse, are you suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome and have trouble even using a mouse to function properly? There is an answer to all of these issues fortunately. There is no tool available to the digital artist more powerful than the computer drawing tablet. Effective use of a tablet can increase the productivity of any illustrator or graphic designer exponentially. Bearing that in mind, use for tablets is not restricted to the business side of art only; a functional drawing tablet is a wonderful tool for both professionals and hobbyists alike. For an employed or commissioned artist, a good tablet makes creating and distributing art faster and easier. If an artist can paint and either email or upload his or her artwork on the same computer, the use of a scanner (and, thereby, a frequent loss in image quality) is no longer a problem – the process simply becomes draw-save-send. For hobbyists, working with a tablet on visual art programs like Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator is far more effective than working with a mouse. Instead of being forced to repeatedly click and drag with a pen tool, or having to tolerate the relatively poor quality a mouse allows, one can simply draw on the tablet as one would with pen and paper. Additionally, the integration of tablets into many art production programs offers an impressive and useful array of customization tools and features that allow art to be made more quickly and with greater quality. Art, like many businesses and hobbies, has gone digital, and drawing tablets are the most necessary tools for artists to make that transition as well. Purchasing a pen tablet can do wonders to improve your overall productivity. Visit computer drawing tablets and compact printers for laptops for more information.
